Hello all.

As powders are hit and miss these days, I was wondering if anyone has accurate handloads for this excellent cartridge with 139-140gr bullets.

I fire mine thru a Contender with a 21-inch barrel chambered by Mike Bellm.

Thanks.

I have the 14" version of the Contender in this caliber. I found RL-15 worked extremely well with several brands of 140gr bullets. I also found that CCI BR-2 were the most accurate of all I tested. followed the procedure in the Nosler manual for fire forming cases and haven't lost any due to separation. I did have some which developed loose primers but I have no idea how old they were or how many times they had been previously fired. I did not load above any listed data I found.

Hope that helps.

Like Mike, my 14" Contender also produces its best loads with RL-15, but I use 120 gr Nosler BT and CCI LR primers. All my brass started as new .30-30 cases necked down and fireformed.

I have had the 14" Contender for a long time, I bought dies when I purchased the barrel, but have never reloaded it (so a few empty boxes of brass)! What bullets do you like best? It looks like 3 weights (120, 139, & 154), any preference (weight & manufacturer) to jump start me?
