7mm to 257 weatherby mag?

I've done a bunch of reading and it seems the general consensus of people say you can resize virgin 7mm rem mag brass into 257 wby mag. The only difference being the neck is slightly shorter but it seems most people have no issue with that. Just wanted to see if any of y'all had experience with this and any advice?

I used 264 Win mag to form into 257 Wby. The reason being: I already had a 7mmRem mag and didn't want any chance of mixing ammo. The re-formed cases come out a little short but it hasn't made any difference. I didn't bother with fireforming. Once the bolt would close on the formed cases, I just loaded them at the lower end of the data and took them hunting.

I forgot to include: I neck turned for uniformity after the initial firing and before attempting anything near the top end of the load data.
BTW Winchester brass is harder than Norma brass in my experience. The 257 Wby is a hot rocket so use extreme care with load variations.

It's quite a bit more expensive honestly. You can get 50 7mm for the price of 20 weatherby and sometimes it's hard to find

Pretty much the same price per 50 at Midway. $1.02 for 7mm. $1.12 for the257. As in $5 per 50. Both Hornady.
Biggest difference is availability. Options for .257, at Midway, are No$ler or Hornady with mixed availability of Norma. No Weatherby brand(that runs $2.10 each. Anything with the name Weatherby on it costs more and has less availability.). Same options for the 7mm, but no mixed anything.
Anyway, it seems you can just FL resize the 7mm brass in a .257 die and the slight diameter differences doesn't matter.

Yea the cheapest I've found was around 50$ for 50. But at bass pro shops by me and cabelas by me I can get a pack of virgin 7mm brass for 36$ for 50$
