7mm rem mag

160 grain Nosler Accubond. My friends and I have used it for everything from deer tp moose and it has never failed us.It seems to shoot well in any 7mm mag we have tried it in.

What kind of accuracy are you guys getting with the tsx and acubonds? What rate of twist on the rifling

My rifle is a winchester model 70, synthetic stock ,pushfeed. It has a 1-9" twst and a 26" factory barrel. It has put three 160 grn Accubonds into a group smaller than a dime at 100 yds, and it likes 168 grain Berger Hunting VLD's.

I have a brand new box of 140 grain Btips to try to punch out 3200 fps with fine precision.

I always had a rule on these over bore rounds. I always use that capacity to push heavier bullets. For example I never shoot under 190 grain in a 300 mag. Of course I don't use these fancy bullets. So since I shoot the 280 at 154 and 162 grains I'd probably shoot the 7mm mag at about 175 grains.

These plain heavy bullets don't do anything fancy. They simply kill stuff dead.

My M70 pushfeed 7mag is a 9.5 twist 26" bbl. Is yours for sure a 9 twist? Mines a mid-late 90's model.

I haven't played around too much with it but it does well with 150 SMKs and 162 SSTs. I'm sure it would shoot the heavier bullets fine, as well.

I reload for 4 different 7mm Rem Mags and all show excellent (at least 3 shot MOA) accuracy with them. IMR4831, WLRM primer, and depending on which rifle Remington, Winchester or Norma brass. All are 1:9.5 twist.

I haven't shot my 7mmRM for 12-15 years but when I used it for EVERYTHING, I used Hornady 139 BTSP for deer/coyote and Nosler 160 Partition for bigger stuff.

If something works don't change it......

I have been very pleased with the Hornady 154 grain PSP 7mm bullet since 1974.. It has served me well and has accounted for quite a number of long shots kills......
