Looking at rechambering a Mauser. Can a 7mm Mauser be rechamber for a 7mm mag. How does a gunsmith rechamber a rifle?
 
To open up your mauser a gunsmith must open up the bolt face to the mag bolt face and do some work on the extractor then rebarrel with a 7MM barrel and then run a 7mm chambering reamer into it. This will run you about 400 dollars most places depending on the quality of the new barrel
 
you may want to double check if tha old mauser can handle the higher chamber pressures etc. of the beefed up 7mm mag
