I have had some feeding issues at 2.260" in one of my rifles with 77 gr. BT
HP"s. I seat the longest 77 Sie. and Nosler 77 custom Competition's with the longest oal at 2.255" and due to the irregular tip shape some come in around 2.250". I was finding if I tried to seat to 2.260" some ended up slightly longer and the tips jammed going into the chamber. Your rifles may have no issues at 2.260".

These bullets (the 77 gr. SMK) were designed to feed from magazines, specifically. The non-expanding hollow tip can be a little wider than FMJ tips, so I can see how an occasional chamber might want them slightly shorter than 2.260" COL, though that is Sierra's recommended number. If feeding presents and issue in a gun that feeds FMJ OK, I would use a comparator adapter or a 3/16" spacer with a caliper to measure from the case head to the bullet ogive the known good-feeding FMJ ammo, and then seat the 77 grain SMK round to match it.

I have seen some feeding problems when seated at 2.260
and have found it was due to a plastic magazine
the plastic needs to be thicker to have the same strength as metal
I gave all the plastic mags away and have had no feeding issues
with the metal mags when seated to 2.260

My experience as well. All my mags are metal, I can get at or close to 2.270 if I want but with occasional hangups and no difference in accuracy it's not worth the trouble - The 77gr SMKs don't really seem to care about seating depth.
