These bullets (the 77 gr. SMK) were designed to feed from magazines, specifically. The non-expanding hollow tip can be a little wider than FMJ tips, so I can see how an occasional chamber might want them slightly shorter than 2.260" COL, though that is Sierra's recommended number. If feeding presents and issue in a gun that feeds FMJ OK, I would use a comparator adapter or a 3/16" spacer with a caliper to measure from the case head to the bullet ogive the known good-feeding FMJ ammo, and then seat the 77 grain SMK round to match it.
