721 Recoil Pad

As far as I know, no one makes a pre-fit recoil pad for 721/722 rifles. The recoil pad for a Rem 700 will probably not fir. You can have a recoil pad installed by a gunsmith and ground to fit.

What Scorch said.
I have Eight Rem 722's as I'm collecting them, and have not seen a prefit pad for those rifles.
In order to maintain the Rem 721's intrinsic value by keeping the stock original, you might consider getting a Rem 700 stock for the rifle and installing it as a shooter, leaving the 721 stock original. There are a lot of Rem 700 stocks for sale lately at reasonable prices.

Thanks for the input. Will a Rem 700 stock fit a 721? I guess I could go with a Slip-on pad, I've seen some that don't look too bad.

95% solution

Ancient thread I know, but for others that may wind up here like myself... I have a near perfect solution. I was searching the internet for a replacement recoil pad for my remington 721 that was passed down to my oldest brother then to me. The original rubber recoil pad was hard as a rock making for one helluva kick from the 300 H&H Magnum rounds.

After alot of searching I came across "Kickeez Pre-fit Recoil Pads". I measured my original rubber pad, printed a template from their site, and found a near perfect recoil pad match. Checkout their KZ-110 Recoil Pad. A lil pricey at 47 bucks but looks like it will work.

Just adding my 2cents so that others that wind up here via a Google/Bing search may find a solution.

I found a slip in recoil pad at Cabelas that was $20 and it works great. I use it on my 7mm rem mag. The name of it is The Shooters Friend. It's a great little recoil pad.
