700VS Question...

Hey all,
I know that the 700VS shares a lot of features with the 700P. Can anyone tell me if they have the same barrel? I know that the stock is different and the rifle is heavier. I am just curious about the barrel.

Thanks

Nala

as far as I know, remington 700 series are different in stock and length of barrel, action and barrel are the same , or I heard,

Only one difference.

The only difference between the 700VS and the 700PSS are the stocks and bolts. The VS stock is a plain ole HS Precision stock with one QD stud in the front. The PSS has a tactical stock that has a wider forend and two QD studs. The bolts differ in that the VS bolt has a polished look and the PSS is flat black. Buy the VS and save yourself some cash. That is what I did and then I just bought a higher grade HS stock later on anyway (PRT25 with adjustable LOP and cheekpiece). Speaking of which, I need to sell my old stock now.

El Rojo speaks the truth. They are the same barreled actions. Buy the VS and upgrade later if you want to. You might find you like the HS varmint stock which some do. If not you can find many other stocks to include HS precisiona nd McMillan, who I really like. Check out www.tacticalstocks.com They have McMillans in stock and cheaper than most places. I know you don't have the rifle yet but save that address. Good luck with the VS. My custom rifle started as one 8 years ago.
