I recently became an owner of my Father's rifle. Its a Remington 700 in 300 WinMag. which hasen't seen any action in nearly 30 years, his excuss is he got married. Anyways, it has small spots of rust on the reciever and some on the barrel. It obviously needs to be taken apart, cleaned and lubed. Is there anything else that should be condsidered or have done? Change springs, any machine work, re-tap any screws, latest and greatest additions? I'm not too familiar with what I need to have done, so i need some help.
