7.65x53 in a short action ?

Does anybody know if this round will work in a standard short action with out alterations? Thanks !

As in a savage or Remington action? It might be a tight fit but I don't see why not

The 7.65 Mauser is listed as 2.97 - 2.99" OAL vs .308 at 2.80".

I would want to check one in the magazine before I bought an action.

I also saw that the 338 Federal (based off the 308) is @ 2.85", so I guess I could cram it in or just go with an intermediate length action like a Yugoslavian or Mexican Mauser. Thanks for the input!
