Several months ago I cobbled together a faux Argentine Cavalry Carbine out of a 1908 Brazilian action and a 1909 Carbine barrel & stock.
The results are a handy iron sighted woods gun that I can beat around, in a very efficient, if not obsolete cartridge.
Privi Partizan still makes ammo as does Hornady, but I reload so no matter. Took it out for some fun in the sun, with hand-loads in 150 & 180 grn from Speer, Sierra & Hornady and Grafs brass. Powders used were IMR4064, H-4895, IMR 3031 and AA 2495 (most accurate). 1-1/2" @ 50 yds with 3 out of 4 shots of the 150 Hornady and 2-1/4" with the Speer 180 grn, unfortunately my picks are too big to load !
