7.62x25?

How does the 7.62x25 Russian cartridge compare to other handgun rounds. I've seen Russian semi-autos for sale and have thought about buying one but I wanted to know how this cartridge rates when compared to other handgun rounds.

Hammy, The 7.62x25 is capable of pretty hot performances, some loadings at over 1500fps. Here's a page with some info- http://w3.one.net/~melchar/tokarev/index.html Depending on the particular firearm involved, beware what you feed your beast. Some loads are too hot for a Tokarev but are just fine for a CZ 52. HTH. -Gregg

Have a cz52 and it has a roller locking systen like the mg42. The surplus ammo is typically hardball, its like shoting a 30 carbine round out of a pistol.

I also have a CZ-52. All the ammo I fired produced a brilliant muzzle flash. What a great round. Fast and light
