going through a new batch of brass from Diamond K, I found three pieces of Lake City brass that was not crimped and did not have the NATO plus in a circle stamp. Rather they have LR stamped on them. "LC 13 LR"

Any idea what the LR means?

tried to post a pick but it seems to be to large:(

Long Range. They command a premium price, if they are all LR like 100+. They also were fired in non-machine gins, like M-14 or bolt action sniper rifles. This makes them much more desirable than MG fired which get puffed, are difficult to resize and have crimped primers. They are worth roughly 2.5 times as much as regular LC (MG fired). Brassbombers.com carries them but has been out of stock, or otherwise unavailable for months. If you want them and see them, jump on the deal. They are not easy to find often.

It is called LR Long Range because it is specially made for shooting competitions at Camp Perry, etc., . . . Long Range, using service rifles. Consistency is supposed to bevery high. Basically they are the best 7.62 brass available. You would not want to bang these up in a robust gas operated gun like an FN-FAL, that also throws them long distances or bounces them off everything. I use older, fully depreciated 7.62 brass for that.
