7.45 Lda

Just purchased a Para Ord 7.45 LDA. Am looking forward to shooting it this weekend. Anyone had any experience with this model? I will give report on Monday:D

I tried the trigger out on one today and I was really impressed. I simply couldn't believe that a double action only pistol could have a trigger pull like that - between 3.75 and 4 pounds!!!!!

Balance was excellent, sights were acceptable.

Let us know how it shoots. It is the first PO I've checked out that I would consider buying. I don't mean that in a derogatory sense at all, but, they have had their problems in the past.

My experience with the 7.45 this weekend was most enjoyable:) I shot 240 rounds of comm. and reloaded ammo without any failures whatsoever. It shot best with my petload of 185 XTP. The trigger remained consistent and the fixed sights proved excellent. My best group was 2.5 at 20 yards. I shot 2 handed standing for the entire test. If in the market for a 1911 I would give this a serious look. The only complaints I have are personal. I prefer a flat mainspring housing instead of the arched which came with the para. Also, why can't all handguns be shipped with two factory magazines?

I agree, LDA is a pleasure to shoot. The 14.45 w/hogue grip is great for me (big hands) and the 7.45 is great for anyone who loves the traditional single stack. The only problem I had with mine is the white dots on the rear sight came out. Easily fixed with a white-out pen.

No ftf's yet (knock on wood) but sometimes it's a little stubborn to load the Hydrashok HP's when I drop the slide. They always fired and cycled after that though. Need to borrow a dremel...:p

I recently purchased a 7.45 and also like the way it shoots; however, I'm wondering if I have a problem with mine.

After pulling the trigger and then slowly easing pressure on it, I can feel it click through two stages before it resets and is ready to fire again. If I let it fully go through both stages it works great. However... if I try to pull the trigger prior to the second click, the trigger completly locks and and have to rack the slide to get it functioning again. Is this normal??

OKCGLOCKER, I too experienced the same "2 step" feel with mine.I tried to fire at each step but was unable too. I wanted to see if it had the characteristic Glock subsequent shot process. I was unable to fire until I released the trigger to original position. However, my LDA fuctioned without any problems, meaning I did not have to rack the slide. You may want to e-mail para and ask them. They usually take a day to respond but they do respond. I asked them if there would be any problems with changing the mainspring housing and they were most helpful. Take Care.

Thanks, I think I'll contact them. Now, I'm having a problem with the slide not locking open after the last shot. I took it to the gun smith where I purchased the gun and he changed the slide lock. It seemed to solve the problem for about 30 rounds, and then started doing the same thing again. Without shooting the gun, it works perfectly every time, but acutally fire it, and it won't lock.

OKCGLOCKER, That's strange. I've had the same problem on other autos but it would always fail to lock firing or not. The problem was always related to a magazine. I'm going to put more rounds through it this weekend and let you know how it did. Good luck with para and I hope they can solve your problem. Take care.

DYNO 10,
I contacted PO and they had me return my 7.45. After a great deal of hassle with UPS, I finally got it to them. They replaced the hammer assembly and slide stop. The trigger now properly resets. I'm going to the range with it tomorrow and see if the slide lock and magazine problems are also solved.
I was impressed with the rapid service from PO. It took nearly a week for UPS to get it to them, but they repaired it within 24 hours and sent it back over-night.
Hope you're enjoying your 7.45.:)

That's great news. I've put about 600 rounds through mine so far without a hitch. I feel bad because I've been neglecting my other guns:) Sorry about the UPS hassle. I've actually had better luck with fed-ex. Enjoy!
