Hi guys, my brother-in-law is selling his 1964 Mark V .300weatherby mag rifle and it looks to have an original scope. I really dont have a need for such a powerful rifle but this thing is the most beautiful rifle I've ever seen. I really want to buy it and save it and only shoot it on special occasions. I dont know much about Weatherby rifles. This particular model is German made and has a Weatherby scope that looks like it came with it but not sure.

Is this a good rifle? Would it be considered a collectable or a valuable rifle? He want $1k with I think is fair but dont know for sure.

Thanks
Steve

Is a German made '64 Weatherby a good rifle? Errr, no it's terrible.

I'll gladly take it off your hands. :D

Spend a little time on various auction sites to get a good idea of its market value. I wouldn't rush to sell it either if I were you. It could easily go up in value as the economy returns and fancy, rare rifles are suddenly affordable luxuries to more of the population.
