$600 for SS 4' GP100?

prices on everything are shaky right now. A few years back (09 i think) i paid 550 for a 4" gp bought from a guy at work that was used (made in 1995 but looked like brand new). It came with a nylon holster and 3 boxes of ammo. I then traded it +$100 for a new (2012) 6" both SS. You can get a gp for less sure but i dont think 600 is too terribly high for one expecialy if its SS.

I guess if it is a gun you want and can afford go for it!! they are not going to get any cheaper.....

I bought a used one this spring for $450, not counting shipping and the FFL transfer fee. There are better deals out there I believe.

About a year and a half ago I got a used 6" SS one in excellent condition from an individual for $425. I wouldn't worry about getting a used one of those beasts. You'll get a nice broken in trigger to boot.

The mark up on guns can be ridiculous, I bought a brand new gp100 6" ss through a good friend that's an ffl and he charged me his cost only, I paid 389.99, that was 6 or 8 years ago so I'm sure things have gone up. I bought 4 brand new revolvers that day, the GP, a single six .22 .22mag, ruger sbh .30 carbine, and a ruger 4 5/8 SBH .44 Mag, they all had to go back to ruger for repair except the single six! They had installed the wrong ejector on the .30 carbine so the ejector rod wouldn't even go through the cylinder, the .44 base pin kept jumping out and would lock the cylinder up, everytime I shot it I had to push the pin back in, the GP100 shot so far to the left that the rear sight blade was as far adjusted to the right as it would go (it stuck way outside of the ramp) and that just barely brought the POI to the left side of the bullseye so I was out of adjustment, Ruger replaced the barrel on that one. Fairly dissapointing day that was!

Buy the $600 GP. When you find all those other better deals, buy them and re-sell the one you have now at a hefty profit.

I was too cheap to buy a nice 4 inch 70's blue speed six last year for $400. My, friends, told me that price was alittle high. Eemmhhmmm. After a dozen gunshows guess what I havn't even seen much less buy at any price?

Some 2 years ago the LGS had a 80's 4 inch ss Service Six, 95%, at $600. A dozen tire-kickers came in told us were were smoking something. Result...next day it left the shop at full price. Who's smoking something now?

If you want the gun and can afford it then I say get it. You know the old saying, A gun in the hand is worth.......

I paid just a wee bit over $600 OTD for my stainless GP 6" -- that was retail from my local gun store about 4 or 5 months ago ----

$599 OTD, yeah, I'd be tempted if I really like it. The GP is a very fine gun and will certainly give you a lifetime of service. You. Might be able to find a better deal bit that isn't a terrible price.

Shop around! You should be able to get a lightly used GP100 either 4" or 6" for around $450. And, I wouldn't mind buying a used Ruger anything, especially for revolver.

Dealer cost on a 4" Stainless GP-100 in .357 Mag is now $500. So the dealer has to make alittle on it. If you can get one for $575 I'd grab it. JMHO
