6 shots, reload, six shots. Under 3 seconds

I'm pretty sure my finger will not move that fast....and I can't afford the ammo it would take to teach it! Fun to watch him...have you ever seen him shoot a rifle? Very quick even at 200 yds.
Mark.

That's Jerry Miculek setting his records.

The shoot/reload/shoot was done with a six shot revolver.

The other two records were done with an eight shot revolver.

Great exhibitionist and I am not trying to play down his phenominal skill, but could he do it under fire? The problem with revolvers, if more than 6 or 8 shots are required it is easier to slap a clip in a semiauto than empty a cylinder and reload for the majority of people especially under pressure. The amount of training and skill not to mention manual dexterity that some people do not have is not viable for most. I have seen another shooting exhibitionist ( forgot his name short stocky fellow) do similiar feats and it just seems unbelievable that one can do this with that speed and accuracy. I used to love to watch Bill Jordan, he seems to have been the pioneer of this type of showmanship.

Wow...

Even if stress and the bad guy moving around on him only made it so he could unload 6 shots into the BG in 2.9 seconds and couldn’t manage the re-load, that would still be more then enough for one dead bad guy.

Also, he has probably practiced that so much until it is muscle memory, and not anything he has to concentrate real hard on to do.

That’s why practice is good for all of us. :p

Miculek's been doing that for years. I saw him do it in person once too - he's the real deal. Nice guy too. Would not want to meet him in a gun fight. FWIW, those are very light loads he shows off with - still pretty unbelievable.

could he do it under fire
He does pretty good under the stress of competition. He wins the revolver class in just about anything he enters.
those are very light loads he shows off with
That's not true from everything I've been able to determine. His handloads are in the 38+P range.

The BG would not even know he was dead...

Miculek - "DROP YOUR WEAPON"
BG - "CUSS CUSS I WILL DO BAD THINGS TO YOU"

BAAAAAAAANG, very slight momentary pause, BAAAAAAAANG

BG "Did you hear something?" drops dead from large hole in center mass created by 16 rounds....

Jerry competes in Open Class in USPSA. With an eight-shot revolver.

Better count again, that's an eight shot wheelie and he fired 16 shots.

Nope. The "shoot six, reload, shoot six in under three seconds" was done with a S&W 625 in .45 ACP. Whoever made the 'muscle memory' comment was pretty much spot on; folks I know who've been around Jerry swear that he could probably throw a moonclip into a cylinder from across the room.

And for my next shot, there will be an unloaded revolver on the other side of the room and I will proceed to throw a moon clip 15 feet into the gun run to it and fire 6 rounds in 2.34 seconds! :D I still can't get over how fast he is.

I agree he is phenominal but lets face it the average person neither has the time or resources to train themselves to this level, it is great showmanship but one never knows how they will react in the real deal. I agree if he can shoot like that under fire he is as deadly as they get, but I have seen more than one person choke, just look at pro football quarterbacks who can complete pass after pass in practice and do well in average games, then they get to the BIG ONE and CHOKE! Ive seen trained LEO's who can punch the center out of a target with speed and accuracy, but in a gunfight they empty thier weapon at a rediclously close distance and dont even score a hit. Just seen to much TV footage of the same thing, perp and cop firing until they are dry and no one gets hit. Just look at guys who can shoot a rifle with great proficiency, then see a deer and get buck fever and cant hit s#it. Adrenaline and stress have profound effects on the human body and mind, I have had the misfortune of being in that situation and words do no justice to describe the effects. Perhaps Jerry he could replicate this in a gunfight due to the extreme amount of practice and discilpine, would I decline his assistance in battle H#LL NO! This post is not to degrade his talent in the least, but it is too point out that showmanship is not the same as the real deal. MY friends and I done limited tests in the past just out of curiosity by shooting while I yell and do all I can to distract them and they do the same too me and believe me the accuracy level is reduced and we arent even under fire. Jerry is extremely talented, very entertaining and in a league of his own, and no I wouldnt want to be the one to find out how he performs in the real deal.
