6.5mm possibilities

I've been thinking about 6.5mm's in general and have looked at the .260, 6.5x55 and almost purchased mauser rechambered for 6.5 06 and 6.5 x 284 is veryy popular in the lang range circles as well. What are the odds Winchester will make a 6.5 short magnum? That would beat out the 6.5x55 and 260 and be easier to reload than the two wilcats. Anyone already wildcattin this one? Any speculation on performance?
 
I have heard on other boards that the 6.5mm wsm is in the pipe line. I have to belive that this configuration will burn out barrels. The 6.5 mm really shines with the 160 gr. bullets to stabilze these you need a 1 in 8 twist.
