im going to move upto 28.9 grains tommorow after work should get me my 2550 i will absolutly love it if i can get theese to 2600fps safley and still be accurate , im going to attempt 2k yard gong shots with the 130 rdf this weekend after i do my 1 mile shots with the hornaday match 140g hpbt's

by the time i move onto playing with my 6.5 cm ill be starting at 2,500 yards with it lol 130g rdf moving at 3k + fps should be fun ( time to start looking at a different scope as well )

What bbl & length are you using? Great results!

Three shot test groups typically have a 3X spread from smallest to largest extreme spread. I would use either load.

I doubt you'll get over 3000 fps with 130 grain bullets keeping pressures under 62,000 psi.

bbl is a wilson combat 20" recon ty

im really happy with the 28.6 load and will prolly be my goto load but im still going to go up on charge a lil more and see what happens my groups tighten up more and more with higher velocitys on every bullet ive tested except for 1
2500 fps will get my to 2k yard shots but 2600 will make it al il easier if its still shooting good at that velocity

At what range do those loads go subsonic?
long before 2k yards , i have all my calcs written down at home but iirc at 2550fps it goes sub at around 1500/1600y, ill dbl check when i get home from work

the 140g hornaday bullets i was using for 1mile went sub at 1200 ish yards i only made an attempt due to high winds hoping to complete that this weekend when we are forcast to only have 3-5 mph winds

Have 4 primed cases left going to load those at 29.2 again

I should be near Max load but everything still looking good well see what happens with retest also have brand new brass comming may hold off on anymore testing till that gets here

i never did load those other 4 , i decided to go get some rounds downrange with my edc instead , ill retest the 29.2 tommorow

Mel80,

If you single feed, can you load out longer?
Those bullets look fairly deep in the casing.

i can but i dont theres not a whole lot more length i can gain by single feeding them , i was going to do an 28 inch barreled ar grendel here soon but i may do a bolt action instead which will give me alot more freedom when using real heavy bullets like the 130/140g and possibly 142g stuff

90g tnt 123g eld-m 130g rdf 140g hpbt match hornaday

Never tried that powder or bullet in my Grendel. Going to have to pick up a pound and a couple of hundred bullets. 8028 XBR was a bust for me in my grendel using 107 - 123 bullets

edit - did some reading up on the powder, found this thread on the Grendel Forum
