Looking for a good starting load using Reloader 25 in a 6.5-06 with a 140gr Hornady (BTHP). I have CCI 200 LR primers for now. I've looked in all the obvious places so I'm hoping someone with experience or Quickload can help.

I've only used H4831 with those bullets and CCI200. Hornady X list 44gr of RL22 under WLR as a starting load. I'm with Scorch on RL19. In my 280, it's stellar.

I myself have and handload for 6.5-06, when it comes to 140 grn pills I'm using Accubonds.
With the Accubond I've tested h4831sc because it has been about the best.
I'm not sure as to Rl25 starting or max, but if you pm me we can talk about rl22 RL19, IMR 7828, win supreme 780,n160, h1000,

You should ask the experts.

Go to www.alliantpowder.com and look for the "Ask The Experts" button and click on it.

The guys there are most happy to answer any questions that you can throw at them.

They always have for me.

Brass,

I hate to say it....

RL25 will give you great velocities...
But.....
Horrible in the accuracy dept.
Fertilize the flowers with it. Pick up some RL26.
High velocities, and accuracy...

I asked about the RL25 b/c I have a pound sitting in the powder cabinet collecting dust. I have tried IMR 4831 and 4955 with good results. I'm about halfway through the ladder test with 4955. The last charge/load I tried was a touch over 5fps SD and at/under 1moa but only travelling 2760fps from a 27" barrel. I still have around 2 more grains in the ladder tests so I may get there. I'd like to be in the 2900-3000fps range with similar accuracy results.
