Greeting's All,

CSKS, yes the 686's are currently -5's. I have
a 6" barrel 686-5, and it's one of the most
accurate six-shooter's I've ever owned.:):D

there is another generation of S&W "-6",... it's for Californians,... it has a hammer lock and the key goes in a lock just above the cylinder release latch. FYI

SW 586 changes

BADsb, (or anyone else)

what does SAB mean? On your explanation of changes you wrote
-1 SAB

I have AJK8***M, no dash number, hammer mounted firing pin.

BTW, I LOVE the smooth action on this revolver.

I also wonder what SAB means.
It prolly means more to me, 'cause I got a 586-3, circa 90-91, with 4 position front sight, hammer-mounted firing pin, and wood grips.
The trigger is really nice.

586-5/686-5 1998 - Frame change to eliminate cylinder stop stud and serrated tangs. Change to MIM hammer with floating firing pin and MIM trigger. Internal lockworks change.

AJK SN made between Jul and Nov 85.
