I just bought a Iver Johnson .58 cal muzzleloader and a .50 traditions muzzleloader. Both are sidelocks and have the breech plug. I was told to NEVER pull the plug bacause of damaging it or possibly twisting the barrel. Also I need to really clean them both good because of slight bit of rust. Any suggestions on the plug or cleaning?
