556 or wylde chamber

Got a question for the wisdom of the crowd

I want to or am going to build an ar15... Looking at two different barrels

One is chambered for 556 and the other is chambered in 223 wylde

The barrels are different manufacturers

So the question is , which go , no go gauge?

I have 556 gauges, will they work for the wylde chamber since that chamber works for both cartridges?? Or do I need the other set for that chamber??

Thanks

Thanks mehavey

I kinda thought my gauges would work but I wasn't 100% sure...better to ask

So they sell all three sets... 223, 556, and wylde....is that a market thing??

Well, it isn't just the throats and freebores. The chamber widths are different, too. The headspace tries to be more consistent. I can find three-tenths of a thousandth difference between the several designs that have 0.3553-inch shoulder diameter, but it's not enough to make you buy a different GO gauge.

Here's a diagram to show you the differences. Two errors are on the drawing, though. One is they list the letter "O" but don't show it. It should be 0.2000 inches for all the variants listed. The arrow for "L" stops at the shaft of the arrow for the case diameter at 0.2000 inches forward of the base, but it should be against the line with "O" at the base for the dimensions in the list to make sense. Note, too, the different makes of 5.56 NATO reamers don't match quite exactly, but are not far different.
