A Aksarben Inactive Oct 27, 2011 #1 I picked up a 552 Speedmaster the other day was going to the range this weekend so I cleaned it up when I realized that the action does not lock open it that the way it is? I guess I could use a spent cartridge to keep it open for inspection.

O one more shot Inactive Oct 27, 2011 #2 The 552 was my first rifle and no they don't stay open when the magazine is empty. Great gun! I've had mine for around 35 years.
