50AE in a Ruger carbine

Has this been tried before?? the rim dia. of the 50AE is the same as the 44 mag . The pressure is the same . so why not make one ???? I think it would a good all-a-round gun . Should be big enough to handle just about anything you run into, cans:) , deer:D , bears:eek: , or varmits 2 or 4 legs . 16" bbl& 10 rds stick mag dbl stack. What do you think ???????
 
In one of the gunrags, I once saw a picture of an original Ruger .44 Carbine converted by Hamilton Bowen to .50 AE.

I think that the hard part for the new carbine would be to modify the .44 Mag magazine for the .50 AE. Perhaps the easiest way would be to fabricate an interface which accepts Desert Eagle mags.
 
I like that idea ! Off the shelf mags . I keep wanting someone to come up with a trigger housing for the marlin 45 carbine that will take M3grease gun mags or thompson mags . it's so much fun to shoot 7rds is just getting started!:cool:
do you remember what rag it was from ?? I would like to read it .
