Need some help wth a decision? I want to place a scope on one of my 500 mags for deer and boar hunting. 8 inch barrel pistol.

1. Need a tried and true scope mount

2. Need a good 1.5 to 4 power or ? Scope

Looking for some real time suggestions, meaning ones you have used and or tested?....

Thank you ahead of time for all the info....

Ralph

Go to Wiegand Combat Handguns and get the mount for the 500. I have one on a 460xvr 8 3/8" bbl with a Burris 2x7 and it's rock solid.

Ralph, Ive been hog hunting with a handgun for many years.

I just sold my S&W.460 because I didn't need it.

I have a Taurus Raging Bull .454 that shot groups better than the S&W .460 (Yep, no kidding)

Any way, I went with the Leupold scope mount and rings and a Burris Elite 2x6x32mm scope. (Make dam sure you use blue lock-tite on the scope base screws!)
I also have the same scope on my Taurus .454 Ive never had a problem with the mount or the scope. My best kill shot so far on a hog is 110 yards. I can also shoot 4" groups at 100 yards with my .454

Make sure you buy a scope with the largest objective you can find.

The next step up from that is the Leupold scope if you want to spend the extra money.

This is the .454 with an old BSA scope on it that I replaced with the Burris.

Thanks for the info gentlemen I will review both suggestions. I will purchase the Burrus elite, and the Leopoldo scope mount. This save me allot of time testing and reviewing as I wanted real world experience.

Leupold scope mount and a Burris Scope is my setup on two of my revolvers. The Burris will handle anything your revolver can deliver. Lok-tite is absolutely necessary.
