Just got in some Hornady .500gr XTP for my .500 S&W's. Using the 8 3/8",shooting the 500gr xtp, 350gr xtp and 385gr Ultrmax, the ultramax was by far the most kick. Still dosen't kick as hard as a S&W 6" .44. Great guns. Sorry to those who are against the company. These are fine weapons. The infernal locks(he he) have given no sign of a problem. The power behind these things are pretty impressive, although really tame to shoot. To be honest, I still almost dread shooting it, until I do. And if I keep my eyes open, its an accurate gun.
If your still reading, what would have more snap, a medium .357 or a larger .44. Not recoil shy but there is a difference between able to shoot and wanting to shoot. Thanx
