50 million rounds down range for liberty!

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the "50 Million Round March" is to send an unequivocal, annual message to our elected representatives and to those who would infringe on our unalienable right to self defense as enumerated by the 2nd amendment ... DON'T TREAD ON ME!, we are numerous, we are committed and we will not have the right to defend our families infringed upon.!

The mission of this event will demonstrate to elected officials the resolve and the numbers of those individuals committed to retaining their second amendment rights and send those officials a message to cease enacting laws which infringe on this right for law abiding citizens. This includes influencing those same officials to rescind laws currently on the books which infringe on this right, and urge them to only enact and enforce laws which punish those citizens who use firearms in the commission of a crime against another citizen's person or property.

We call on all patriotic Americans, regardless of race or creed, who hold the Constitution and Bill of Rights to be the best enumeration of our most important God given rights, and who are willing to defend it against all enemies foreign or domestic, to join us on Father's Day in sending this message to our elected officials and those who would deny us of our 2nd amendment rights.

come on fellas!
this is the third time the 50MRM has been posted here on TFL

This is a "rally" y'all should have little problem attending

Go to the range on Fathersday & shoot 10 rounds

Mail your target to your Senator

What's the matter, dz?

I don't see any body complaining about the 934the post of "Which 9mm Should I Buy?" or the 677th post of "9mm vs .45ACP" or the 200th post of "Which One Should I Get, the .30-'06 or the .308?"

Having a bad day?

Great idea. I think a thousand roaunds would suffice for the day. Spread it out between long guns, shoer 'uns, and shotguns.

Cover the spectrum, you know.

A guy could transpose pics of different enemies of the State to the targets, just for the effect. Say like, Hussein, Reno, WJC, etc...

As for delivering a message, the most effect one is a range certified target. That way the statement is complete. A clear concise message about the capabilities of peaceful people who're being wrongfully targeted.

Best Regards,
Don

The most foolish mistake we could make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerers who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.

i'm not complaining about your posting the 50mrm to TFL sensop, i am complaining that the 50mrm threads have rolled off the bottom 2 times already

seems like TFLers are not interested...

dz,

I guess didn't know that. I wouldn't have posted if I'd known it was an old subject that had no interest.

'Still a good idea. Sending my Rep and Sen a target with the center area blown out is a good one too. 'That what you meant? Do you realize that someone will open the envelope and get GUN on them? 'More I think about it, the more I like it.

I've been a little unclear on the whole thing, even after visiting their site. We send in targets? I'm not sure how that will go over. Could be construed as a threat? Also, no ranges (really) in my area, except the one in my back yard. Is that allowed? Any ideas?

I think it's not that there's no interest, it's more like there's nothing to say about it. The project is simple and self-explanatory.

well than lets hear that y'all are gonna do it!!!

quote:
Bottom line is, there's lots of grassroots support for this in terms of it allowing the average shooter to "do something" which send a message to their reps.

That's what this is all about. It's not directed towards what the media will think, or how they will spin it. That's a playing field that has already been set up against
us, and one we cannot win on. The direct message of constituents to congress critters is what we're supposed to be about anyway, and if enough people do that,
the spin of the media will be completely overshadowed.

As to the concerns by some regarding sending the "spent casings" and "targets" in ...

1.If the spent casings are sent in a small box with the letter, they will be processed by the postal service. We recomend that on the site.
2.If the target is not in the likeness of someone and is not a silhouette, it will not be a "threat". We recommend this on the site as well.

Please be sure anyone or any organization that has concerns understands this, and please have them contact me if they so desire.

We're going to push this under those conditions. Every message to congress regarding standing firm on the 2nd and rolling back the unconstitutional laws and
creating no more helps this cause IMHO. This is another of those.[/quote]

sensop.

I like it! But, 50 Million Rounds will put a serious dent in my ammo supply.

A good excuse to take my dad to the indoor range, due to the heat, and rib-lets at Arbees after punching some paper.

Thanks for the idea. I've got to enjoy him while I can; you never know what life has waiting just around the corner (or maybe we do).

I like it! I'll spread my rounds between 416 Rigby, 375 H&H, 577/450 Martini-Henry and 375 Nitro Express. That oughta get their attention..... ;)

I don't see what the problem is. Go to your local gun ranges and gun shops with the flyer you can download from the web page. Fill in the times and locations. Have each range promote it.

Call the press and let them know what you are doing. Sunday is a slow news day. Bang is very visual.

If you have no official range, invite a bunch of shooting buddies to you own "private range."

It is Fathers Day so bring the kids to teach them how to shoot.

Go outside of the internet to publicize this. Call up your friendly radio station talk show and tell them what you have planned. Be a contact for a media person.

Just do it.

Rick

Count me in. This is something even the laziest gun owner can do.

Let's roll on this one. I might just use some rifled slugs in my Benelli...

NRA? Good. Now joing the GOA!

I advise against sending your targets or shell casings to anyone. The press will decidedly NOT portray that in a flattering light. And that would totally defeat the purpose, wouldn't it? While I'm at it, don't wear camo, T-shirts indicating a willingness to die for anything, or Cat-hats. It only serves to fortify negative stereotypes about gun owners.

Call the media. Invite them to a friendly range session. Idealy, get them to participate, if you can. Change how they see firearms.

Does anyone know if we just go to any range we want, or should we go to a "sponsering" range? I looked, and there are no supporting ranges in TX listed. ...guess I'll have to print off copies of the flyer and take them to area ranges...

Maybe I'll have my new Mossberg 500 by then! :D

416...... were you in the Army?
I'll bet you were real disappointed to find out that a 155mm field howitzer was not a shoulder fired weapon! :D

Father's Day Event Planned -- 50 MILLION ROUND MARCH"

DATE (Emmett, Idaho ) -- May 19, 10 AM -- A nation-wide "50 Million Round March" is being planned for Father's Day 2000 in support of 2nd amendment
rights and to counter the so called "Million Mom March" which was held on Mother's Day.

This event will demonstrate to elected officials the resolve and the numbers of those individuals committed to retaining their second amendment rights, and send a
message to cease enacting laws which infringe on this right for law abiding citizens.

Fathers and their families, friends and neighbors will get together at shooting ranges all over the nation and simultaneously fire over 50 million shots, or "rounds",
as a statement in support of the right to keep and bear arms for all law abiding citizens. "Range monitors" will be in place at each event to insure that proper firearm
safety is observed.

This effort will also include a letter-writing campaign to congressional representatives, senators, governors and the President informing them of the participants'
attendance and their insistence that infringements on this constitutional right cease. As a momento of the event, the participants will include either one of their used
targets with their letters, or two spent cartridges in a mailer box with their letters.

One of the organizers of this event, Jeff Head from Emmett, Idaho, related the following reasons he got involved with such a grassroots event:
"The efforts to infringe upon our 2nd amendment rights to self defense have been escalating in the recent months. A veritable chorus from political pundits and the
main stream media are trying to convince us that it would be "best for the children" to further restrict firearm use and sales to honest, law-abiding citizens.

However, history is littered with the ashes of societies and peoples who have accepted this unsubstantiated and historically inaccurate claim. Historically it is clear
that it would be "best for the children" for the people to remain armed. Responsible firearm ownership and use are one of the great hallmarks for American liberty
and our unprecedented peace and prosperity as a people.

This event will safely discharge over 50,000,000 "rounds" from firearms in the space of two hours without harm or injury to those taking part at any official
shooting range around the country. This in itself will send a powerful message regarding firearm safety and responsible use by law abiding citizens.

So, on this Father's Day, and on every ensuing Father's Day, let us stand as father's for family and liberty. Let us stand with our wives, brothers, sisters, children,
relatives and friends. Let us send 50 million rounds down range collectively at firing ranges all over this nation to demonstrate our resolve and the true meaning of
our 2nd amendment rights."

The effort, which officially started on Tuesday, May 16th, had already garnered the support of a number of conservative web sites, gun shops, firing ranges, and
conservative media outlets. In addition, the "50 Million Round March" web site has been visited over 18,000 times in its first three days of operation.
