quote:
I have heard it said that the effort to send targets and shell casings to our public servants, from Father's Day trips to our shooting ranges, sends a bad message,
that this would "frighten" our poly-tick-ians, that this would paint us as "likely to violence to settle political differences", "give ammo to the other side"...

So?

Do we wish to be FURTHER portrayed as "compromisers?"

Do we wish to have our poly-tick-ians think that, ultimately, we WON'T use every means at our disposal, DON'T know what the Second is about, WON'T use it,
and our liberty teeth, as they were intended?

The other side seems to have all the statistical ammo they need... and since they are habitually "out of ammo", they just make up some more from thin air... and
it is accepted. Why, why does it matter what "bad impression" we send?

The other side has the bit between their teeth, and are in full stride, and full throat.

Yesterday, I saw comments from T. Roosevelt about averting conflict by constant demonstration to a potential enemy that aggression would earn him an
ass-kicking, and if that didn't convince him before the fact, you must stand ready to actually deliver the ass-kicking, as necessary.

Read Jefferson's Declaration. In it, you find cataloged the fruitless efforts of the colonists to reason with the king and Parliament and the English people... and the
results... naught, or worse.

We are 60-odd years PAST the time that Judge Lynch should have handed out a few tastes of the hemp... perhaps 80-odd years past. We find ourselves in the
situation described by Churchill--

"..If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not so costly, you may
come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may be a worse case. You may
have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves..."

I know. I've heard it all. Go ahead and continue the efforts at reason and compromise. Go ahead and "work within the system". Can you not see what it has
wrought?

Frankly, I can not be content to live in a situation even as it is.

And there isn't a snowball's chance in Alabama that it is going to be "held at status quo." Even if it is, as the public is acclimated to these conditions, the concept of
inviolable rights is removed from the public consciousness.

Rolling back the tide? Nah, ain't gonna happen. History teaches that, experience teaches that. There is no Fourth Article, no Fifth Article... there is no First Article
and certainly no Second Article. The Tenth Article gasps once in a while, but is terminal, on life support, actually terminated, and lacks only the pulling of the plug
to be ready for burial.

In point of fact, the only Article still standing is the Third, and it is not at all understood. Upon what principle does the Third rest? It rests upon the principle of
private property. The "king's domain" stops at the property line. So, rather than attempt to quarter soldiers upon you (where you might slit their throat some
night, or poison their food), they simply levy a tax on your property, astoundingly with the seeming agreement of the populace, and if you don't cough up your
rent, the king's men will come evict you with the encouragement of your neighbors. After all, your neighbors have been duped into feeling that they are profiting
from this thievery. So, in fact, since the concept and principle upon which it rests is rendered moot, so is the Article.

It has been decreed that private possessions lawfully obtained, on private property, are contraband and those in possession are outlaw. Likewise, it has been
decreed, against all tenets of common law, that cultivating a garden of contraband plants is proscribed, and the gardener outlaw.

The Ninth Article was dead on arrival. Paid permission is required to travel about via private transport, and this permission is liable to revocation for whatever
excuse is offered. Expedience for security is the only excuse offered. It is openly announced, and evidently supported, that the public highways and byways are
subject to closure to verify that all who travel possess proper permission.

Huge forces are in place to enforce these abominations. Individuals of this force are among us, claiming to be OF us, and some shall read these words. Those of
you who have not and do not understand the purposes and conditions of your employment, please think about the concepts here presented. Then, if you go
forward, do so with the full understanding of what you are doing. It is my duty to make sure that you are fully informed before any attempt to visit any
consequence upon you.

For those of the populace who read these words, realize what has been taken from you. Realize that the only limit to tyranny is whatever limit is placed on the
tyrant by the people. Be fully informed as well, so that you understand what treason you are supporting by your silence, your acquiescence, your overt support. I
make every effort to inform those who are wittingly, or unwittingly, selling out their own rights, the rights of their neighbors, my rights, the rights of our children...
and the consequences of those actions. It is my duty.

Likewise, as Jefferson stated, I have duties. Having expended every effort to discharge my first duty, to inform, I am then brought to other duty...[/quote]
