50 BMG Remington Rolling Block

Are you kidding?

Do you mean there are actually people chambering a 136 year old action designed for low blackpowder pressures for the .50 BMG?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I like Rolling Blocks, and I know that Pedersoli and some others have chambered Rolling Block reproductions in .50-70 Gov't, but unless the action is truly immense, I don't think it would stay closed under .50 BMG pressures.

me too--i'd like to convert my45-70 Browning Falling block to 50 cal. i read an article on falling blocks once that said they would shoot anything you can shoot from shoulder. i'm not sure that a 50 could be shot from your shoulder without comp and other recoil reduction tricks..Dick

That was a Sharps in the last picture, but I doubt that full blown 50BMG rounds would be fired from it. structurally it is weaker the a RRB action. Falling Block or no. Those side rails are thin. The Rolling Block is springy, and will cause the base to be offset from the perpendicular center line.
