.50 Beowulf Conversion

Anyone get this conversion kit for their AR? If so, how do you like it? What's the recoil like and cost of ammo usually run for?

Also, what is its accuracy like?

I have one that I really like.
Recoil is comparable to a 20ga slugs, or a 45-70.
Accuracy is scary good. I used mine in a clay shoot (standard clay targets set in a rack, shot offhand either timed or man-vs-man) and had no problems hitting targets at the 25 and 50 yard marks. If I took my time between shots, I missed very few at the 75 and 100 yd lines. I want to blame the misses on the gun but it was the nut behind the buttstock that was causing the misses.

I reload for about $.90-$1.35 a round depending on what bullet I use.

for pigs

Deja vu; I just picked up a 2005 American Rifleman today at lunch in the break room that advertised this conversion. I'm going on a pig hunt in Texas in March and was thinking that it would be a hoot to do this to my Bushmaster rather than taking the H&K 91.

If anyone has any hunting experience with one of these, I'd love to hear it.

LOVE MINE

I have one and think it is awesome. It does kick like a mule, but, I have a friend working on a muzzle brake for it (yes he is a gunsmith).

I have used it for pig hunts so far. It is dead on up to 100 yards with some drop towards the 100yd mark. At the 200 yd mark it gets a bit more droopy. After 200 yds forget it.

It kills the hogs dead and instantly. Biggest so far is a 270lb hog from about 50 yds. Dropped instantly. The only problem I have with the Beowulf, as compared to a lighter rifle, is the noise. It is extremely loud and clears all the hogs out for miles.

If you wanna see what it kicks like check out this vid of my son shooting mine
(be warned horrible quality from cell phone)
