5" VS 6" in 1911

What are some of the advantages and Dis-advantages of a 6" 1911 vs the more standard 5". I have several 5" 1911 now and am thinking of a 6" in the future but have never seen or shot one before.
 
THe 6" 1911 I have experience w/ is very well balanced, nice long sight radius, very accurate & alot of fun to shoot.
 
Longer barrel will give only a very slight increase in velocity of 45 ACP, but the 45 Super might show greater benefit from the longer barrel. I am sure the long slide dampens recoil and would probably be a better platform for a 45 Super.
 
Springfield Longslide!!!

Had one tricked out and it was a blast! I actually like the balance of the 6" better than the 5" and believe the proportions on the 6" to be more aesthetically pleasing that the 5".

Also, they don't recoil hardly at all! A nice boat anchor type of gun!:D
