5.56 links - source?

In anticipation of the belt-feed kit for the M96, does anyone know where I can buy appropriate belt-links for 5.56/223 ? Presumably these will be M249 (SAW) links, unless there is another standard for 5.56 links?

I have checked the usual places (cdnninvestments, etc) and come up with nothing.

thanks

I have about 200 links, spent blanks, and two plastic SAW ammo holders that I "received" when I was young and the Marines took the beach near my house. But I think I will be hanging onto them for the M96 reason.

You may want to try a military surplus store, I know I have seen 7.62 NATO bandoliers in quite a few stores.

Robinson Armament is supposedly working on a belt-feed kit for their M96 Expeditionary Rifle. The M96 is based on the Stoner 63 design.

Here's the belt-fed 63A:

If you live relatively close to a military base, you should scrounge the "Saigon Sam's Military Surplus" stores that always crop up nearby.

Otherwise, you might check the Shotgun News.

Pre-ban applicable?

Does anyone know what the deal is with the 1994 crime bill and links? Are there "pre-ban" and "post-ban" links?
