Im thinking about switching from my Glock 20 to my 686 for IDPA, just to be different (as if a full size 10mm isnt different enough). I'm also planning on using un-watered down .357 125's. Hey, you perform how you play right...whatever experiance I gain from cometition is wasted if I shoot .38 wadcutters for comp. and full-house .357's for carry. The name of the game in IDPA is testing your "real-life" skills not your cleaver gamesmanship...right.
But I digress. What is a good, fast IDPA holster for my 4inch 686 that could double as a wintertime, jacket weather concealment rig. Since I'm a skinny guy, a paddle or mid/low ride holster is more comfortable and practical with a heavy wheelgun. most CCW style holsters for K/L frame have one of 2 problems for me. They either let the grip flop out to much, or (mostly with pancake style holsters) I have to sinch my belt up so tight that the holster binds down on the gun making it hard to draw. I was thinking along the lines of a felt lined, open top paddle...who makes a good one for the 686?
Before you say, "use what you carry it in now", you should know that I don't CC my 4in. 686. I do carry it but thats in a low ride Safariland duty style rig for woods use. I just dont think that holster goes along with the spirit of the game.
