.460 Rowland conversion

I know Clark's does .460 Rowland conversions on S&W 625s but shouldn't this job be well within the capabilities of any professional gunsmith? Apparently Clark's wants the whole gun to do the conversion. Isn't this just a matter of increasing the depth of the chamber by 1/16"? I hate to pay round trip shipping of the whole gun for such a simple job.

Dave, your best bet is to find someone local to do it. Without the complete gun there's no way to check headspace and test the pistol. I wouldn't do it without the complete firearm either. George
