i couldn't find an answer in the blackpowder forum,so i thought i try this one.the colt walker is a 3" inch cylinder in 45lc could one swap a .410 shell in this cylinder (2-1/2").i ask this because the taurus judge and thunder 5 are a 45lc/.410 revolver.or would this not work, there couldn't be but so much difference in the cylinders that house both cartridges.

The steel used to manufacture black powder guns in general is not as strong as steel used to manufacture smokeless powder guns. The conversions you see are limited to shooting "black powder equivalent" loads. The frame of the Colt-style cap and ball revolvers is not strong enough to take that king of abuse. They use a wedge that locks the barrel to the center pin, which is pressed into the frame at the rear. You could probably design a centerfire converter, but it would not last long.
