.45auto shot shells

Has anyone ever tried CCI's shot shells for .45ACP? I've tried them in .357 revolver and love them, but I'm skeptical about their function in an Auto pistol. Any experience?

I was told that they are not powerful enough to operate the action, but I think they will. I have a 45 and some shotshells on order and I have tried the 22LR shotshells with no problem.

I have used them from cci and out to 30 feet they work great with about a 10inch circle preety dense and they will function the action ok,at least in my kimber.. Great for snakes and rats.(the four legged ones)probably just piss off the two legged ones.Thats what the 230 hydro-shoks are for.

Question for all: When these rounds break apart to many "mini shots", do they damage the barrel?

I wouldn't think they would damage the barrel.. Both the plastic "cap" and the shot are softer than the steel of the barrel..

They won't hurt your barrel,I can't tell any difference in how the barrel looks after shooting them.

After. We did a lot of expermentation with the shot capsules and hand loading years ago incliding junk yard loads.(spring steel wire cut to lengh of shot capsule)We have never harmed a barrel. In fact I am still shooting the *&* model 19 that we used.

I've used CCI shot through my Taurus 9mm without any problem. The package warns that they might not have enough power to work the slide, but they've worked for me. I do have to make sure that I don't limp wrist the slide when loading the first round.
