I just got a Taurus Raging Bull 454 on trade and was wondering what kind of value it may have. It is a 6.5" with ported barrell. It is in nice shape and shot very little. I did go buy some ammo for it today and was hoping to shoot it before I sell it. I'm finding out it also shoots 45 long colt and 44 magnum is this correct? I really dont know much about this gun.

paid 550 for this one

So it appears the value is somewhere between 550 and 800. Is the recoil bad on these or does the ported barrel help reduce it enought.

tell ya what. just to help you out, send it to me and i will look it over REAL GOOD and give you my opinion!!;);)

The thing to remember about the 454 Casull is it is based on the 45 colt by making it a little longer and a whole lot more powerful. Same goes for the 44spl to the 44 magnum and the 38 special to the 357 magnum.

Thats why you can shoot 45 colt in your gun and someone else can shoot 44spl in their 44 magnum.

.454 is a great round. It's especially suited to a woods gun, being one of the few handgun rounds that's a legitimate counter to any creature you run into.
