454 Casull Rossi lever actions... any owners out there ???

While looking for a 45 Colt rifle for CAS use ( I'm giving up my engraved 38 / 357 to the MRS for her use next year )... I ran across the Rossi site talking about the Casull model having a tube mag load feature ( I assume it still has the loading gate, but also loads "easier" through the tube ??? ) I also shoot 454 Casull in a revolver, & thought it might be kinda cool to make a dual purpose rifle, that could fire cowboy loads, & deer hunting loads

padded butt plate is easy enough to fix, with the addition of a leather butt cuff...

1st off, hows the function been ???

is it easier to load through the tube than through the loading gate ???

any other issues I might run into ???

I have a Freedom Arms model 82 premier grade 7.5 inch barrel and I hand load for it ,and hunt elk and deer with it .I find it no big deal recoil wise IF you know how to shoot a magnum single action revolver . That said you would be far better off buying a Marlin1895G rifle if you want a lever gun . It is no big deal to carry 2 calibers. the 454 Casull is a grear hand gun cartridge ,but no great shakes as a rifle round . ;)

I also have a Ruger Alaskan in 454 Casull & agree... I like shooting it... I also already have a guide gun as well

my point right now, is, I need a 45 Colt lever gun for Cowboy Action Shooting... the tube load feature only available in the Rossi Casull gun afaik... that feature might make reloading at the bench much easier than stuffing through the gate... I could modify anything that makes the 92 Casull lever gun not fit into CAS rules, so long as it really is easier using the tube load feature, & I can get a 45 Colt cowboy load, that will run through the Casull lever gun...

then if I wanted a handy lever gun to go with my Alaskan, all I'd have to do is load up the Casull ammo...

My 454 Casull is a pussycat compaired to my S&W500 .;) You know you can shoot 45 LC in a 454 and you can find lots of 45LC lever guns .You can hand load the 45LC prety stout if you need more power. FYI I have found Rossi firearms to be lacking in my past experiances with them . Maybe they have improved since I owned mine ,but I was not to thrilled with them in the past.
