A round with 37 grains of H-110 has a velocity of 2282 FPS coming out of a 20 inch barrel, can anyone tell me what would be the approximate velocities from revolvers? say 6.5 inch barrel? on this same round

You don't have a reloading manual for reference?

Nosler 260 2400 27.0 1805
Nosler 260 H110 32.0 1751
Nosler 260 Lil' Gun 31.0 1777
Speer JHP 260 No. 9 27.0 1681
Speer JHP 260 2400 27.0 1773
Speer JHP 260 Win 296 32.0 1642

From Load Date: Use desrection & only load from a respected manual.

You may want to check that load again. I just looked at my Hornady manual and it lists 36.9 H110 as max for a much lighter 240 grain bullet. Then just to double check, the Hodgdon website shows 36.0 H110 as max for the lighter 260 grainer. The 454 is a fine round and Hodgdon even used a 9.375" Freedom Arms revolver to test with and they are about as good (and strong) a revolver as money can buy. If you feel you need more velocity, you may want to look at a 460 Smith. YMMV

My notes with a 7.5 Super Red last month show a Winchester factory load using a 260 jacketed at 1839 FPS.

37.0 grains and a 265 grain bullet is the starting load for full power .460 S&W Mag in some reloading manuals....
