Hey guys!

When I tried to respond to the thread it gave me "web page not found" or some such error, so I appologize for making another thread.

Longduck: Exactly how is it different? How is it to shoot? Any further inpressions?

Chipperman: I have looked through my manual (USP45f) and I do not see anything about 45super in the ammunition section although it does say on page 21:

"All USP pistols are approved for use with +P and +P+ ammunition."

Is that was 45super is? "+P+" ?

How does 45 super differ from 45acp? Is the brass different? Will 45acp reloading dies work for it? Any balistic info about it?

Thanks you all!

J.T.

the 45 super is a stronger case then the 45 acp.If memory serves me it is a 45 win mag case cut down ,but i could be wrong. The 45 super opperates at a higher pressure than the 45 acp.The case size is cut back down to the 45 acp length if i remember correctly though.
The only factory gun i know of that is chambered for it is the longslide from SA.And finally the +p+ is a police issue round only!
If I can find my older reloading books I will post the more info about it !

The .45 super originated by cutting down a .451 Detonics case to .898". The .45 Super brass is my brass of choice for my hot handloads. Starline makes and sells it.

SAMMI: .45 +p - 23000 psi
.45 +p+ - 25000 psi (I think)
.45 Super - 28000 psi

The bottom of the case is much thicker around the primer area and the base in .45 Super brass.
