.45 SUPER, a caution

I've posted this before but it's been a while.

I have an H&K USP 45fs and have shot about 60 rds of Triton 45 super with no problem.

One day I brought an empty round to work to show a friend the casing. While we were discusing the diferences from a normal acp round we decided to look at it under a microscope. I was shocked to see there was a crack that ran almost all the way around the inside of the base! The next day I broght a box full of empty supers to work and about %80 had cracks.

I emailed this info to Triton but never got a response.

I still have a bunch and I shoot them ocasionaly but no longer make a habit of it.

just a caution.

It should be a comforting though to all of us HK owners. The odds are - most if not all the supers you have fired were in the same condition.

Triton no longer manufactures this round. Anyone know who made the brass for Triton? I have 500 Starline cases, never fired.

I have the $5 conversion in my Para-Ord. It has a fully ramped barrel and shoots the factory stuff w/o prob.

FYI, Triton's new round (450SMC) uses a much stronger case than the 45 Super, so you won't have to worry that much. I haven't had any problem with my Triton 45Super brass, and still reload it. Bad lot?
