.45 pistol with good chamber support?

Looking for a .45 pistol that has a well supported chamber -- something that doesn't bulge the cases too much with full power loads. In other words, I'd like a barrel that can handle reloading.

The pistol should also be able to shoot semi-wadcutters without choking.

Thanks in advance

Yeah, I know. I'm answering my own email :)

I'm interested in the new 8+1 shot, Steyr .45 coming out in late 2001. But's that's too long to wait.

Any 1911 pistol with an integral feed ramp/fully supported chamber will meet your requirements.

I would (did) choose the HK .45 It will shoot anything without choking.
It will even shoot the breeze with the boys at the local range when I'm done shooting.

I have a G21 with a BarSto barrel that has digested over 3000 rounds without a single malfunction. the vast majority of that ammo was reloads (mine) with cast lead bullets, SWCs, truncated cones & roundnose. My brass is no more bulged than if it is fired from my 1911.
