45 LC question

About 6 months ago I bought a cimarron 7 1/2 inch barrel model p 45lc..I have an opportunity to trade it in for a uberti 1875 outlaw..I thought Id ask you "pros" which is the better gun..I love the look of the remington..it too is the 7 1/2 inch barrel model...thanks in advance for the info..the outlaw is unfired in the box..my model p I put 2 boxes of ammo through it..it also has the box and paperwork...
 
I have both and there isn't much defference between the two. They handle and feel very similar. I got a Remington to have something a little different (seems like everyone has a "colt") Both are great guns. I think you will be happy with either.
 
I gotta go with the remington...as the model P is fairly easy to come across..I can always happen upon another one..
 
They are both made by Uberti as far as I know so I would pick the one that I liked better as quality wise they are essentially the same.
 
The Cimarron is a cut above a standard Uberti.

I beg to differ. I have Comarron, Uberti, Dixie Gun Works, and Taylor's. They are all Uberti, and are all the same. The only difference is what company logo is stamped on the barrel. Function and fit/finish wise, they are exactly the same.
 
I dunno, I've only had two, a Cattleman and a Cimarron. The case colors were better on the Cimarron and the action was smoother and lighter on the Cimarron.
 
Well, in my experience there isn't a difference. I have a 1875 Remington and an old .44 magnum by Uberti, a "1858" Remington conversion and nickel plated "colt" .45 from Taylor's, two 3rd model Dragoons, two Walkers and 1861 navy from Dixie, and three model-P (cattleman), 1851 navy conversion, two "1858" Remingtons and two 1851 navies from Cimarron.(not to mention two 1873 rifles one 1866 carbine, an 1876 rifle and a henry rifle) All of them are great. The newer made guns seem to have a better finish and action on them. That has nothing to do with the importer. They all come from the same factory in Italy. Not trying to sound like a know-it-all, I just have examples from all the importers.

The OP didn't even ask a .45 Colt question. Didn't have anything to do with a cartridge.

Ummm, Clem where is the discussion about a cartridge taking place? We were discussing which Uberti of the various importers was best.
 
I did Clem. he said he had a Cimarron model P in .45 Long Colt and was thinking about trading for a 75 Remington. The conversation morphed into which importer had the best guns. The actual cartridge wasn't an issue of the discussion.;)
 
I see that....but I had to read the posts first whereas when I read the subject matter it said it was going to be about .45 Colt.
