I just bought a box of the Hornady Leverevolution loads for the gun and have sighted it in for 75 yards...groups well. I intend to limit my shots to 100 yards. Anyone have e an opinion on effectiveness of this load if shots are limited to 100 yards?

My opinion, from what I have seen of the Leverevolution ammunition/bullets in general is that it will work real good. Could probably get out farther than 100 yards if you wanted. I want one of the .45 Colt H&R. What kind of accuracy are you getting?

I used Winchester hollowpoints, but I took a eight-pionter with a Colt New Frontier in .45LC about two years ago. I think you even reach a little futher than 100yrd if you need to.

I have an H&R Buffalo Classic. i took the stock and forearm off and replaced it with a Tapco AR style stock specifically designed for the H&R. Neat set up. The stock slides to adjust length of pull. Sure beats cutting that wood and allows my 8 year old to use it comfortably. Shot it yesterday with teh Leverevolutions. Got it set 2 inches high at 50 yards which puts it 3 inches low at 100 yards. We will see how it does on deer this Saturday....hopefully.

Jack,
Today was our first day of primitive weapon week here in Area 2 of Louisiana. Regualar firearm season will start next Saturday and run non-stop til end of January 2011. At 7 a.m. sharp this morning, I drew down on a mature doe grazing at a ranged 239 yards with my 45-70 stoked with Leverevolutions 325 grains....I held at top of shoulder as it is 3" high at 100 yards....she crumpled on squeeze of trigger...bullet exited too....absolutely incredible performance....I'm a believer now.
