I have a DPMR LR-308 with a quad rail. My intention is for the gun to primarily be a hunting rifle, and until I get an AR-15 in 5.56 it will need to fulfill the role of a home defense rifle. Since I will be using it for hunting I’m planning on putting a scope it, but I would like to have some viable iron sights as well. The gun came with Magpul MBUS sights. I’ve been looking into getting some 45 degree offset mini rails to place the MBUS sights. I would prefer that the rear sight be at the rear of the gun, and not on the forward quad rail, meaning it would need to fit under and beside the scope I will put on the gun. A major concern of mine of the many offset rails are tall and may not fit under the scope. I know what you’re thinking, “why not just buy a set of 45 degree offset iron sights?” Well to complicate issues I shoot long guns left handed, and most offset iron sights are made for righties.
