Loaded some 45 Colt for the first time. 200 grain cast (cheap) bullets over 8.3 gr of 231 (max load). Shoots well, but it's really dirty. Leaves flakes of charred powder in the brass, cylinder, and barrel.
Is this normal for 231 and light 45 Colt bullets?
