.45 Auto 15rnd magazines (extended)

Do they function flawlessly? I wonder if they function at all. :p

Fifteen rounds of .45 ACP is a lot of weight to push up a narrow tube. My guess is that the 15-rounders being advertised are just cheap 7-rounders with longer tubes and springs. Caveat emptor!

I would definitely be skeptical if the mags were single stack, although I have some 10 round single stacks that work flawlessly...

Were they single or double stack????

I bought a 15 rd. magazine at a gunshow a few years ago for $15.00. ( I was worried about the HI-CAP ban) It is a single stack. A single stack of junk!! The only way it functions at all is to hold up on the bottom of it. They are junk, and not worth buying! If you really want one, I'll give you mine!

How about a single stack, 100-round .45 ACP magazine....

I saw one at a gun show a few years ago, it was about 4-feet long. Used in WWII for some type of aircraft gun that shot the .45 ACP round - and the mag would fit in the Colt 1911!

Extension magazines for .45 automatics go back to the first World War where they were developed for air-to-air combat!
I have tried Wilson Combat's 10 round magazine and McCormick's 10 round magazine. Both are single stack and both work well in my guns. The McCormick has a good feature, a plastic shroud that protects the botton of the magazine which extends bellow the butt of the pistol.

In the FWIW column, I have a 30 round drum magazine that fits into a standard 1911. The drum held rounds feed into a single column top piece to feed the pistol. The spring is tensioned by cranking on a handle. It works fairly well. The paperwork that came with the mag said it was a copy of a WWI aircraft mag.
