.45 ammo

I've came across some .45 ammo in a cardboard box of 20. The box says" 20 cartridges, pistol ball, caliber 45 M1 1911" then has " ammuniton Lot WCC1087, Western Cartridge company" It appears to be a little old as its also got dust balls in each seperation inside. Anyone have any idea as to how old this ammo is? Only thing stamped on the head is "wcc 41". thanks

wcc41

Did think that was it, but so much dust trapped inside the seperate rds i just wondered. Guess i'll just wipe off the dust and run em through .45 LOL

Thanks for fast and accurate response gentlemen, this is what makes
"firing line" my favorite site!

I definitely would not shoot it.
The only reason being: Cool collectible! Historic old piece. Display it, or pull it out to show or to look at. No reason to shoot it. Twenty rounds... that's a couple three magazines. Don't shoot it.

Yea, why screw around shooting old corrosive handgun ammo that might be collectable? Clean it up and the box and save it or something. I would only consider it if I had alot and was curious to see if it goes bang-OK it goes bang but then it is not for regular use, so why bother.

Well I've got plenty of .45 ammo so think i'll just put it up and see what happens down the line. Course at my age i cant afford to wait around tooooo long! LOL

I bought 20 box's of .38 Cal Ball M41 WCC91K083-006g 130 March last year. For about $160 delivered.

Who I bought it from claimed it was Winchester.

Shot pretty good, but it was stinky. I guess I should have kept a box or two.
