45 ACP LSWC Blue bullet

Lyman third addition pistol and revolver data calls for Lyman #452630 lead bullet, 200 grain, to be loaded with starting grains of 5.4.

Is this recipe ok with Blue Bullets, 200 grain LSWC?

Same question for Lyman 200 grain #452460.

452630 is 5.4 grains.

452460 is 4.0 grains

Both with 231.
 
Make sure you load SWC bullets in a semi auto so the full bore shoulder is just over flush and make sure they chamber. If you allow the full bore portion of the bullet to stick out very far, they won't chamber. If you drive the shoulder into the case they will hang up when feeding.
 
You are welcome, I learned when I used to load the 155 LSWC in 40 that there is a sweet spot for loading SWC's in semi autos :)
 
However, there are also situations where a protruding SWC has benefits. Yes, they have to feed. That should go without saying. But, especially if the chamber is long, seating them out far enough to nestle into the throat (headspacing on the bullet) has brought about a 40% reduction in group size for some measurements I've made. With uncoated bullets, it also reduces leading to negligible levels. Third from left, below.
