45 ACP Carbine?

It might be easier and less expensive to find a Marlin Camp carbine in .45ACP.
With the added benefit of being able to use 1911 magazines.

There was a company quite a few years back that converted m1 carbines into 45 win mag carbines.
You run into them once in a while at gun shows...

Those always scared me a little. There seemed to be a narrow margin between a heavy enough load to run the action and a hot enough load to wreck it. I bet a 9mm Winchester/Wildey would make a nice carbine conversion, but the ammo would be a pain. How about 9x23 Win?

45 ACP carbines

Mech -tech make an upper in 45acp or 460 Rowland that slips on your 1911 frame. most likely less expensive than a carbine conversion. the Marlin's in 45 are scarce

45 ACP Carbine

Many years ago I saw on a shooting/outdoor show a fella doing just this type of conversion with the 45 win mag cartridge and the M1 Carbines. I think he was somewhere in Michigan at that time.

I think the guy's name is Tim LaFrance. He used to cut down Star .45s to the size of a PPK, and I think he ended-up with a lot of the leftover Bren Ten components, threatening, at one time, to make something like 50 complete pistols, but only in .45 ACP.

Tim LeGendre was the gunsmith/head of LAMAG Co. in Holley, MI - the outfit that used to convert M1 Carbines to .45 Win Mag & 10mm , back in the 90's.
